Summer is literally around the corner, which means bikini season is upon is.
Freaking out about donning a two-piece? Don’t. With a few easy tweaks to your daily exercise regime and diet, you’ll be knocking them dead with your heavenly beach body in no time at all.
1. Ditch the alcohol
We all know it is laden with calories, yet we all still reach for a drink more than we should. To really lose those last unwanted pounds and tone up, you have to say goodbye to alcohol. Alcoholic drinks contain empty calories, especially the sweeter ones like cocktails.
2. Cut back on processed foods and starchy carbohydrates
They may seem like a simple solution after a long day at work, but processed foods provide very little benefit. They are notorious for spiking up even the most benign appetites. The same can be said for breads, pastas, bagels, cookies, and crackers. Most of these foods are loaded with extra sodium and preservatives that can contribute to water retention and bloating.
The rule of thumb is simple: Stock up on fresh produce and organic foods and combine it with lean protein to keep you satisfied.
3. Increase your daily intake of natural diuretics
You will flush your system faster when you increase your intake of natural diuretics. You need to include in your diet more cucumbers, asparagus, lemon, green tea, and any foods with a higher concentration of magnesium, potassium and vitamin C.
4. Exercise
No pain, no gain… keep that in your head as you melt away those last unwanted pounds.
Butt exercises burn tons of calories and prevent a saggy bikini-bottomed butt. And let’s not forget that a flat belly is a must!
Give both areas extra attention during workouts leading up to and during bikini season by performing exercises to tighten both of these regions.
5. Drink water — and lots of it!
The best way to rid yourself of excess water weight is to flush your body with water. You should drink at least half your body weight in ounces each day (e.g., a 150-pound woman should drink 75 oz. or the equivalent of about four and a half 16.9 oz. bottled waters a day)
