Denmark is a place that has bestowed the world with many wonderful gifts: Viggo Mortensen, LEGO, and now, haircut price equality. After a woman filed a complaint last year about paying the equivalent of $94 for a short haircut that those with a Y chromosome only had to fork over $76 for, Denmark’s Board of Equal Treatment ruled that such pricing discrimination violated the country’s Gender Equality Act. To which I say, thank goodness someone else finally has the sense to recognize how ridiculous this gap is.
