Street Style: Neutral Vs Bold Bags

I find these shots particularly interesting because not only are the 2 ladies obviously fashionable – and that their look in the photos have the similar elements (sunnies, scarves and skinny jeans) but then they both decided to make the look completely their own by choosing completely different handbags. And I love both of the bags equally. Can’t decide which I adore more, the orange-red Celine or the neutral camel Prada?

Street Style: Complimentary Contrast

One of the hallmarks of great style is being bold and and not afraid to stand out from the crowd. Blessed with deep, luminous, cocoa-colored skin, this girl decides to highlight it by wearing a dress in pure white.  And to finish off the island  vibe of the dress – a detailed turqoise pendant. Outstanding.

Contrast is a welcome thing when executed well.

Street Style: Easy Breazy Denim Deux

What do I love about this photo? She’s wearing a denim jacket AND denim pants. They are both denim (it’s a no-no to wear a jeans jacket and pants at the same time) but of different colors. Note the solid primary colors – blue, black, white and red. Completely effortless. Change up the red sling back to a bold red clutch and and the sandals to killer heels, and you have a party ready outfit.

Denim jeans and pants done right.

Dove’s ‘Real Beauty Sketches’ Ad Campaign challenges women’s perceptions of themselves

TheeBlog-DoveBeautySketches

We are beautiful!

That is the notion that Dove is trying to assure women everywhere with their latest campaign titled ”Real Beauty Sketches.”

The brand led a social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.

The women who participated in the experiment were interviewed about their bodies by a sketch artist. All of their comments came back negative.

But when they were told to befriend another subject, their new friend offered positive feedback and the resulting sketch was a brighter and perhaps, more realistic version of themselves.

The video below is resonating with women everywhere and touching a nerve, which is evident by the fact that since it was posted on April 14, it has now amassed over 14 million views.

Did you know that only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful?

The message is clear from the clip: We are all more beautiful than we think!
